Kamawanu

Tenugui are multi-purpose rectangular cloths used in households across Japan; for over three decades, Kamawanu has specialized in making them. Their tenugui are created using a traditional dyeing technique unique to Japan – chusen – in which patterns are made using a hand-cut stencil and repeated applications of dye to layer colors and create a vibrant print. The results are always one of a kind.
