Collection: Hibi Match Co. x KonMari

Hibi is a collaboration between a neighboring Japanese match manufacturer and an incense company – both over 80 years old. Located in the Harima region of Awaji island – which has been producing matches and incense for over a hundred years and is known, informally, as Incense Island – the two venerable producers created a genius hybrid: an incense stick you strike like a match. The perfect mixture of paper fibres, incense and charcoal, each stick burns for about 10 minutes – and is designed to travel. The word hibi means “day to day” or “daily,” in Japanese, and Hibi’s hope is that the small act of striking an incense stick – and filling your space with an aroma to match or shift your mood – will become a daily, grounding ritual wherever you are.
