Collection: Awagami Papermill
Founded by the Fujimoris, a family of seventh-generation papermakers in Tokushima, Japan, Awagami specializes in traditional washi – wa means Japanese and shi means paper – made from renewable, natural fibers like mulberry bark (kozo), bamboo, mitsumata, gampi and hemp. Visitors are welcome at the Awagami mill on Shikoku island, where mountains and rivers provide the fiber and water necessary for washi papermaking.
