Kintsugi Repair Kit, Silver/Indigo
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken objects — typically ceramics — with a metallic lacquer. The craft exemplifies the aesthetic of wabi sabi, a tradition that embraces the impermenance of nature. It is a belief that lives within the KonMari Method™ as well. Practicing kintsugi reminds us that dedicating care and attention to well-loved items both rejuvenates them and sparks joy in us.
While traditionally, kintsugi features a gold lacquer, KonMari and Sandy Leaf opted for a cooler palette of silver and indigo, a nod to aizome, the ancient art of Japanese indigo dyeing.
The kit comes with two bowls to break and practice on, instructions, pigment, a protective cloth, glue, gloves and an application tool. There are enough materials for you to repair your own items, too.
• Silver pigment
• Two practice bowls
• Protective cloth
