The Beloved 'Grasshopper' Kendama Wooden Toy
If you were part of the kendama craze in the twenty-tens, this toy needs no introduction. If you missed it – or need a refresher – a kendama is an addictively fun Japanese skill toy. Made of a handle (ken), a pair of cups (sarado) and a ball (tama) that are connected by a string, a kendama is a handheld scoring game for one – the goal is to catch the ball in one of the cups, and the ways of doing so are endless.
This beechwood "grasshopper" kendama was made with first-time players in mind. The smaller handle fits in younger players’ hands and the larger cups help to master the fundamentals.
