Test Response

Known as tetsubin, cast-iron teapots have a long history in Japan – and are an essential part of a Japanese tea ceremony. This one was made under the watchful eye of a kamashi, a master craftsman with 30 to 40 years of experience in the art of metalwork; not for the faint of heart, this 60-plus-step process includes pouring molten iron into a clay mold. In a brilliant azure blue, this kettle features a subtle chrysanthemum design representing longevity and nobility – and the removable strainer makes great tea!

Capacity: 22oz
6.25" L x 5.5" W x 4" H
Cast iron
Care Instructions
Hand wash inside of pot only. Dry thoroughly with a paper towel or dry cloth. Do not scrub or rub the outside of the teapot, as it could remove the surface's patina and color.

The teapot cannot be directly boiled on a stovetop – it is designed for hot water to be poured in so tea can brew inside.
Please Note
The surface of the teapot has been finished with the distinct look and feel of Nanbu cast ironware. With this traditional technique, the original color will change with use, giving you a unique look. Keep away from oil splatter to avoid stains.
