The studded hobnail detail on this elegant teapot is a subtle nod to the serious metalwork behind it – a time-honored process that traditionally consists of 64 to 68 steps. Made by pouring molten iron into a clay mold – under the watchful eye of a kamashi, a master craftsman with 30 to 40 years of experience – this tetsubin is an essential part of a Japanese tea ceremony. Includes a removable strainer so your leaves stay tidy – no drifters!
Available in two colors, Cream or Azure Blue.

Care & Use Instructions
Care & Use Instructions
Hand wash inside of the pot only. Dry thoroughly with a paper towel or dry cloth. Do not scrub or rub the outside of the teapot, as it could remove the surface's patina and color.
The teapot cannot be directly boiled on a stovetop – it is designed for hot water to be poured in so tea can brew inside.

Please Note
Please Note
The surface of the teapot has been finished with the distinct look and feel of Nanbu cast ironware. With this traditional technique, the original color will change with use, giving you a unique look. Keep away from oil splatter to avoid stains.
